About This Spot

Stepping into Nawroz Restaurant feels like entering a warm, inviting corner of Middle Eastern hospitality right in the heart of Stonehouse. The pace here is unhurried and calm, a welcome pause from everyday bustle, where the aroma of grilled spices and freshly baked bread greets you almost immediately. It’s a place where moments are savored, whether you’re settling in for a quiet meal or enjoying a shared feast with family and friends.

The atmosphere is quietly lively yet soothing — familiar and welcoming without any rush. There's a subtle hum of convivial chatter, the kind that makes this spot feel like a neighborhood haven. The attentive staff adds to this gentle rhythm, quietly weaving a sense of care into the experience which many find comforting.

Food at Nawroz isn’t just about nourishment; it’s an invitation to explore rich, authentic flavors that tell stories of home and tradition. Dishes arrive generously, crafted with a mix of tender, well-seasoned meats and fragrant rice, accompanied by flavorful vegetable sides and fresh breads that still carry the warmth of the oven. Each bite invites you deeper into the culinary culture — whether it’s a perfectly spiced lamb qozi, a generous mixed grill, or a sweet, flaky piece of baklava that gently rounds off the meal.

One of the quiet charms here is how the meal unfolds naturally, beginning with a comforting, complimentary soup and the aroma of herbs and spices weaving through the air. Small touches like a Turkish tea to sip or a tangy pickle alongside your meal turn dining into a ritual that is both nourishing and leisurely.

Beyond the dishes and decor, Nawroz carries a sense of welcome that often draws locals back again and again. It’s a space where families can gather, friends can reconnect, and each visit feels like a gentle reminder of the rich tradition and warmth of Middle Eastern culture.

Great experience at Nawroz Restaurant! The atmosphere was lovely and the service was excellent — big thanks to Selena for being so attentive. The bread was hot and tasty, and the hummus was delicious. Only thing is the chicken would’ve been better if it came with sauces.

Very nice restaurant with delicious middle Eastern- Iraqi food, tasy nan bread and grills. The rice soup is on the house. Their staff is very nice. They have a prayer room on the top floor.

I've been here twice and I plan to come many more times. For just £13 you get a feast of meat, rice, naan, a spicy vegetable side and the complementary soup that is served the moment you sit down. Super delicious and super value for money, highly recommend

We’ve been coming here since we first moved to Plymouth. The food is delicious and fresh. Our favourite is the lamb qozi with rice. Definitely recommended to everyone.

We visited Newroz Restaurant in Plymouth as a family of five after seeing our uncle at Derriford Hospital, and we were so glad we chose this place for dinner. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious — full of rich, authentic flavors that really impressed us. We especially appreciated how accommodating they were for our group. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal together. Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely return next time we’re in Plymouth! The bonus side is very next door is has grocery Kurdish / Turkish store …
